About Us:

We are Craig (ex Wellington SPCA Dog Handler) , Lyndsey (ex-Wellington SPCA & Veterinary Nurse) & Zoe (Doggy) and we run Homelands Kennels & Cattery. We house dogs & cats of all types, from the smallest and cutest kittens to the horse-like great danes.

Doggy Care:

We cater for all kinds of dogs and have large outdoor natural grass play areas for doggy mayhem. Our pooches also get to play in paddling pools, have digging areas and they get those really annoying and super squeeky toys to play with (You know the one he picks up just as Shortland Street is starting?).

Homelands prides itself on making sure the animals don't just have a place to stay, they actually enjoy themselves and are entertained. We socialise the dogs, promoting the ability to play in groups and get out at least 4 times in each day.

Our canine guests dine on only the finest cuisine, with Mighty Mix meal biscuits (a natural New Zealand made product), and Iams Premium biscuits mixed with dog roll for a taste sensation!

We'll happily take on any size and breed here at Homelands, and make sure the smaller ones get to play in "Day Play Groups" instead of being alone. We don't just do overnight stays, we also offer doggy day care too so your pooch can relax while you slave away at the office.

We can't of course cater for Clifford the Big Red Dog, that's asking a bit much even for us...

Kitty Care:

Our Kitty house has some pretty cool features, which we're sure yout cat will love. It has free roaming indoor/outdoor access area for all day fun. We also have 4 separate outdoor secure areas for extended play, sniffing and rubbing up against things. Those things include scratching posts, multiple levels shelves, haybales, tunnels and the odd mouse.

Cats are also fed on only the finest foods, with Iams Premium biscuits and tinned food to ensure they get balanced meal.

We interact with our guests all day and the staff share their passion for working animals, offering a limitless supply of cuddles and love for all our guests. We'll happily take you and your pets for a tour round before you decide to stay, but please remember to bring your current vaccination certificates.

If you have any specific requirements, young, old, requiring medication or physically challenged or the like, we're more than happy to meet your individual needs. Well, unlike one customer that asked if Fluffy could sleep on our bed...no, no Fluffy can't...
